Medicare Payment Impact Modeling

IHA Medicare Payment Impact Modeling provides Iowa hospitals with impact analyses of Medicare payment policy changes.  Each year the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) make several changes to how hospitals are reimbursed under the Medicare program through the regulatory process.  The impact reports provide hospitals with quick and easy to understand analyses of proposed and final regulatory changes that assist hospitals in planning and preparing both operationally and financially. IHA provides the regulatory impact reports on the Medicare Prospective Payment Systems including hospital inpatient, hospital outpatient, skilled nursing facility, home health, inpatient psychiatric facility and inpatient rehabilitation facility.

IHA also provides impact reports of potential and adopted statutory changes to Medicare payment policy.  While also assisting hospitals in the planning and preparation stages, these reports serve as an invaluable advocacy tool in illustration to Iowa’s Congressional Delegation the impact of legislation. IHA receives updated HCRIS data on a quarterly basis as cost reports are submitted to CMS throughout the year.  This data is the source for illustrating payment changes for the many tools IHA provides to Iowa hospitals.

Hospitals can access their reports through the online portal, https://iowa.askflorence.org/HARP/Account/IowaLogin. If you need assistance with access or questions regarding IHA Medicare Payment Impact Modeling, please contact Allison Martin at IHA, 515-288-1955.
