Physician Business Leadership Certificate Program
Today’s providers face unprecedented change, from shifting regulations to financial uncertainty. In this complex environment, hospitals need physicians who can lead with confidence, innovation, and strategic focus. The Physician Leadership Business Certificate Program equips providers with the business and leadership skills necessary to navigate challenges and drive meaningful change within their organizations.
Iowa Hospital Association partners with the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative, Iowa Medical Society and Iowa Academy of Family Physicians to offer a certificate program designed to help physicians gain the tools to become successful leaders in today’s complex health care environment.
Participants achieve the Physician Business Leadership Certificate by attending sessions and meeting additional requirements for networking and involvement with other industry activities. Each session features well-known physicians who will share their expertise in:
- Foundational leadership and business skills
- Health care delivery issues affecting physicians, such as the opioid crisis and behavioral health
- Topics to help physicians improve their efficiency and effectiveness
The next Physician Business Leadership Certificate Program cohort begins in January 2026.
Continuing Education Credit Information
The American Osteopathic Association and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education have approved this program for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit, American Osteopathic Credit and continuing education contact hours. No ineligible company provided financial support for this continuing education activity. Planning committee members and speakers have disclosed if they have an economic relationship with an ineligible company.
