IHA Information Center

Information Center publications and database resources help Iowa hospitals and health systems plan, market, and budget their operations and future activities. As the clearinghouse for the collection of inpatient information in Iowa, the Information Center identifies and tracks trends. It is carving out a niche for itself in the world of health care data compilation and analysis.

Inpatient Database contains patient level discharge data for all acute discharges including newborns, excluding SNF, long term care and swing bed from all Iowa community hospitals and has been available since 1988.

Outpatient Database contains data on all outpatient visits from Iowa hospitals and surgery centers and has been available since 1995.

Dimensions is a PC based software solution to enhance IHA member's use of the IHA Statewide Inpatient, Outpatient, and Non-Resident Databases.

AHA Annual Survey collects comprehensive utilization, financial, personnel and services data on all Iowa hospital based on audited financial statements and serves as the state licensure survey for Iowa.

Profiles of Service an annual guide that summarizes the environment in which hospitals and health systems operate, outlining basic data about the Iowa hospital and health system community.

Service Directory Summary is based on data from the AHA Annual Survey. The directory lists Iowa hospitals by the services they provide.

DATABANK is a web-based database (www.databank.org) of hospital utilization, financial performance, and balance sheet indicators.

Endorsed Data Products complement existing IHA data products and services.

Salary and Benefits Survey collects salary and benefit data on more than 150 non-management, management, and executive job classifications divided into peer groups and custom peer groups. This annual survey helps Iowa hospitals hire and maintain appropriate levels of personnel and evaluate their benefit plans.
